John le Carré Film season

The 2017 Spy Week film programme concentrates on adaptations of John le Carré’s novels and ranges from the obscure to the more well known, from The Looking Glass War and A Murder of Quality to The Tailor of Panama and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

The Looking Glass War (Frank Pierson, 1970)

The Looking Glass War follows a Polish defector who is recruited by a British spy to infiltrate East Germany.

 A Murder of Quality (Gavin Millar, 1991)

Date and time: Tuesday 18 April, 8.40pm

At the request of a wartime colleague a British Intelligence officer investigates the murder of a woman at an all-boys school, and in the course of his investigation discovers that murder is not all that Carne School has to hide.

A tailor living in Panama is reluctantly recruited to feed information on the elite of Panama City to a British spy.
